Hess Persson Estates

In 1978, Donald Hess came to Napa determined to defy convention and pursue winemaking not on the valley floor but in the mountains. He established the Hess Collection winery on the steep slopes of Mount Veeder and began a legacy of luxury wine-making.

Donald's passion for elevation winemaking and nurturing the land helped put Mount Veeder on the wine map as its own nested AVA of Napa Valley in 1993.

In 2012, Donald handed the reins to his daughter Sabrina and her husband Tim Persson. Still family-owned and operated today, Hess Persson Estates encompasses The Hess Collection, Lions Head Collection, as well as other labels and brands cultivated over the years.

We can’t wait to welcome you here atop Mount Veeder, our home for more than 40 years. Whether you’d like to book a private tour of the Hess Art Museum or one of our many culinary experiences, reservations are required. We request all guests be 21+.
